The Journal of Oceanography is the official journal of the Oceanographic Society of Japan and open to all oceanographers in the world. The main aim of the journal is to promote understandings of ocean systems from various aspects including physical, chemical, biological, geological oceanography as well as paleoceanography, etc. The journal welcomes research focusing on the western North Pacific and Asian coastal waters, but the study region is not limited to the Asian Pacific. The journal publishes original articles, short contributions, reviews, and correspondence in oceanography and related fields free of page charge. Papers describing important new techniques, methods, and apparati will also be considered. Descriptive work will, however, be accepted if they contain general principles. Founded in 1982, the Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology (CJOL) explores ocean and lake related sciences. CJOL publishes the most up-to-date original research papers, mainly from China, on all aspects of oceanology (or oceanography in the western sense) and limnology related fields. Academic topics include biology, physics, geology, chemistry, hydrology, meteorology, and geography. Applications-sector coverage includes aquaculture, marine resource exploration, remote-sensing, environmental protection, marine engineering, pharmacology, and instrumentation. Most published papers are from projects at provincial and ministerial levels, representing the most advanced research in China. This is the only official learned-society journal of the Chinese Society for Oceanology and Limnology, and it is affiliated with the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qingdao, China.

The Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications publishes carefully selected papers covering mathematical optimization techniques and their applications to science and engineering. Typical theoretical areas covered in the journal include linear, nonlinear, mathematical, and dynamic programming. Among the areas of application covered are mathematical economics, mathematical physics and biology, and aerospace, chemical, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. The journal is the leading German publication for the promulgation of the results of original work both in the areas of scientific and clinical orthodontics and related areas. All articles undergo peer review before publication, and appear in both English and German. This journal provides a vehicle for the rapid dissemination of original scientific work dealing with the reconstruction of lake histories. Although the majority of papers deal with lakes, it also publishes paleoenvironmental studies of river, wetland, peatland and estuary systems. The primary constituency of the Journal of Parasitic Diseases is parasitology. It publishes original research papers (pure, applied and clinical), which contribute significantly to any area of parasitology. Research papers on various aspects of cellular and molecular parasitology are welcome.

Journal of Pest Science publishes high-quality papers on all aspects of pest science in agriculture, horticulture (including viticulture), forestry, urban pests, and stored products research, including health and safety issues. Journal of Pest Science reports on advances in control of pests and vectors of diseases, the biology, ethology and ecology of pests and their antagonists, and the use of other beneficial organisms in pest control. The journal covers all noxious or damaging organisms, including arthropods, nematodes, molluscs, vertebrates, plant pathogens, and weeds. The Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics is devoted to illustrating the importance of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacometrics in the understanding of drug action, therapy, design, development, and evaluation. It presents experimental and theoretical papers examining the kinetics of drug disposition and drug action; clinical pharmacokinetics; factors affecting formation and disposition of drug metabolites; dosage form evaluation from animals and humans; bioavailabilty studies, scaling from animals to humans, and in vitro and in vivo correlations. A special section is provided for papers addressing pharmacometrics, the computational and statistical methods used for the modeling, analysis, interpretation, and simulation of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data. Most published papers illustrate and apply their finding to real-world observations in animals and/or humans. Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics publishes six issues a year.

The Journal of Philosophical Logic aims to provide a forum for work at the crossroads of philosophy and logic, old and new, with contributions ranging from conceptual to technical.

Accordingly, the Journal invites papers in all of the traditional areas of philosophical logic, including but not limited to: various versions of modal, temporal, epistemic, and deontic logic: constructive logics: relevance and other sub-classical logics: many-valued logics: logics of conditionals: quantum logic: decision theory, inductive logic, logics of belief change, and formal epistemology: defeasible and nonmonotonic logics: formal philosophy of language: vagueness: and theories of truth and validity.

In addition to publishing papers on philosophical logic in this familiar sense of the term, the Journal also invites papers on extensions of logic to new areas of application, and on the philosophical issues to which these give rise. The Journal places a special emphasis on the applications of philosophical logic in other disciplines, not only in mathematics and the natural sciences but also, for example, in computer science, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, linguistics, jurisprudence, and the social sciences, such as economics, sociology, and political science.

Manuscript submissions to the JPL have grown rapidly over the past few years, putting tremendous pressure on the editors, the editorial board, and external referees.
 
In order to give JPL an opportunity to reorganize the editorial process to handle the increased volume, we have decided to suspend new submission between May 1 and October 1, 2013.  The JPL will continue with the current process for manuscripts that are currently under review.  In addition, if your paper has been 'conditionally accepted,' then please feel free to resubmit it in the usual way.  However,, if your paper has been given a verdict of 'revise and resubmit,' we ask that you not resubmit it until after October 1.We very much regret the difficulty caused by this decison to all authors of potential JPL articles, and hope that you will consider sending us your manuscripts again after October 1.  If you have any question about this moratorium, or about how it affects your paper, please feel free to write directly to Hans van Ditmarsch (hans.van-ditmarsch@loria.fr) or John Horty (horty@umd.edu).
