Founded in 1985, the European Journal of Epidemiology is a forum on the epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases and their control. The results of epidemiologic studies are essential arguments for action in the field of public health policies and efforts are made to bring the journal to the attention of public health decision makers. The journal is a source of material for those engaged in teaching epidemiology.The journal covers the different fields of epidemiology, a science which has always been multidisciplinary by nature: contributions are encouraged from the fields of public health planning and control, economy, preventive medicine, clinical trials, vaccinology, psychology, molecular biology, mathematical modelization and computer sciences.The journal presents original and review articles, brief reports and letters to the editor, Proceedings of relevant symposia and monothematic issues on topics of particular interest are occasionally published as supplements.

The European Journal of Forest Research publishes research articles and reviews addressing a range of subjects worldwide: Biological, ecological and socio-economic knowledge relevant to wood and forests Systems analysis and modeling of forests and landscape Forest ecology, conservation and management Forestry-to-wood production chain The Journal is aimed at researchers, managers and policy makers. Coverage includes reports on trends in research, studies in regeneration, soil chemistry, regional and local changes in forest cover and patters and more. There is a significant need for European futures research as European countries face numerous substantial problems: at the same time they seek to make a contribution to solving global challenges. European regions “share” common experiences, divisions and conflicts – which altogether build a rich resource for critical examination as well as forward-looking renewal.  European integration after World War II has reshaped political, economic and social relations in Europe and beyond. Therefore, the future of Europe will also depend on the further development of the European Union in its wider transnational and global contexts. Consequently, the journal seeks to foster thorough analysis of key European policies, such as those for research and education.  Nonetheless, topics addressed in the journal are not limited to the (development of the) European Union: we invite articles that raise questions about European futures more generally. Interdisciplinary research is as welcome as are disciplinary studies, ranging from the social sciences and humanities to the natural sciences and engineering. Besides its empirical focus the journal promotes discussions about European traditions and perspectives in futures research. European Journal of Law and Economics has been accepted for Social Sciences Citation Index and will first appear with an Impact Factor in the 2010 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), published in June 2011. The European Journal of Law and Economics provides readers with high quality and empirical research in law and economics. The Journal publishes analytical studies on the impact of legal interventions into economic processes by legislators, courts and regulatory agencies. There is an emphasis on European Community law and the comparative analysis of legal structures and legal problem solutions in member states of the European Community. Manuelle Medizin richtet sich an Orthopäden/Unfallchirurgen, Allgemeinmediziner, Rheumatologen, Internisten und Traumatologen sowie an Krankengymnasten und Physiotherapeuten in Klinik und Praxis. The European Journal of Nutrition publishes original papers, reviews, and short communications in the nutritional sciences. The manuscripts submitted to the European Journal of Nutrition should have their major focus on the impact of nutrients and non-nutrients on immunology and inflammation, gene expression, metabolism, chronic diseases, or carcinogenesis, or a major focus on epidemiology, including intervention studies with healthy subjects and with patients, food safety, or biofunctionality of food and food components. Papers with a major focus on traditional medicine or food technology will not be accepted. Nor will case studies be accepted. Letters to the editors may be submitted. Letters are expected to provide substantive comments on papers published in the EJN. Both the letter and a reply, if appropriate, are published together whenever possible. Europe has always been an area of dynamic development in plastic surgery. Its great strength has been the lack of uniformity of this development due to differing cultures, different traditions, and differing medical and surgical philosophies. Over the recent years, these changes have been even more striking and rapid. The European Journal of Plastic Surgery creates a focal point for the input of new advances in clinical techniques and in research. It thus becomes an educational vehicle. In addition to this, the journal provides information on what is going on elsewhere in the world, and it is also willing to accept contributions from outside of Europe. Fields of interest include general plastic and reconstructive surgery, head and neck surgery, aesthetic and craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, treatment of bones, trauma, burn management and basic research related to all aspects of plastic surgery.Submitted articles are first evaluated by the Editor in Chief and if judged appropriate, are peer-reviewed by at least two selected experts. Reviewers may be plastic surgeons or other surgical/ medical specialists with expertise in specific areas of research. Manuscripts provisionally accepted for publication may be returned to the author for corrections or clarifications, in response to suggestions by the Editorial Board or external reviewers, prior to final acceptance.Online submission and peer review for rapid online publication are offered through the Editorial Manager System. The European Journal of Population aims to improve understanding of population phenomena by giving priority to work that contributes to the development of theory and method, and that spans the boundaries between demography and such disciplines as sociology, anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, epidemiology and other sciences contributing to public health.
