The mission of the Flexible Services and Manufacturing Journal, formerly known as the International Journal of Flexible Manufacturing Systems, is to publish original, high-quality research papers in the field of services and manufacturing management. All aspects in this field including the interface between engineering and management, the design and analysis of service and manufacturing systems as well as operational planning and decision support are covered. The journal seeks papers that have a clear focus on the applicability in the real business world including all kinds of services and manufacturing industries, e.g. in logistics, transportation, health care, manufacturing-based services, production planning and control, and supply chain management. Established in 1948 with the title 'Applied Scientific Research,' Flow, Turbulence and Combustion is today a forum for publication of research that contributes to the solution of problems in flow, turbulence and combustion and related fields. The journal’s audience of readers and contributors spans the international fluid mechanics community. The journal is published in association with the European Research Community on Flow, Turbulence and Combustion (ERCOFTAC), a collaboration among European universities, research institutes and industry active in the area of applied fluid mechanics, which promotes scientific research on current issues in this area. The journal covers the entire domain of flow, turbulence and combustion, including all flow problems relevant in industrial, geophysical and environmental applications. The emphasis is on solid and original research results, numerical, experimental and theoretical, and their relevance to applied fluid mechanics and combustion.

Fluid Dynamics is a translation of Izvestiya Akademii Nauk — Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, a publication of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The translation began with the first issue of the Russian journal.Fluid Dynamics is the leading Russian journal for the publication of theoretical, computational, and applied research in the fields of aeromechanics, hydrodynamics, plasma dynamics, underground hydrodynamics, and biomechanics of continuous media. Special attention is given to new trends developing at the leading edge of science, such as theory and application of multi-phase flows, chemically reactive flows, liquid and gas flows in electromagnetic fields, new hydrodynamical methods of increasing oil output, new approaches to the description of turbulent flows, etc.

Fluids and Barriers of the CNS is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal that considers manuscripts on all CNS fluids and barrier systems in health and disease. Title changed from Cerebrospinal Fluid Research on 1/1/2011.

Apart from regular papers, the journal also publishes book reviews and Forum discussion papers that raise important topics of broader interest. Occasionally, Special issues may be published on various topics in plant ecology, and plant systematics.

Food Analytical Methods covers fundamental and specific aspects of the development, optimization, and practical implementation in routine laboratories, and validation of food analytical methods for the monitoring of food safety and quality. The journal features original articles, review articles, and notes on novel and/or state-of-the-art analytical methods or issues to be solved, as well as significant improvements or interesting applications to existing methods. These include analytical technology and methodology for food microbial contaminants, food chemistry and toxicology, food quality, food authenticity and food traceability.

Food Biophysics publishes research on physical and chemical studies of food structure, properties, and functions and their relationship to the molecular structure and properties of food materials. Biophysical studies of food involve research at the intersection of food chemistry, biology, and engineering. The topics of research include the structure of food molecules, biopolymers, and food materials on the molecular, microscopic, and mesoscopic scales; the molecular basis of structure generation and maintenance in specific foods or food processing operations; mechanisms of antimicrobial action; structure/function relationships in food biopolymers; novel techniques in food biophysics, including spectroscopic, thermal and rheological studies; glass transitions in biomaterials and their influence on chemical reaction rate, microbial growth, or sensory properties; and molecular mechanisms of taste and smell.

The journal publishes original papers and reviews that describe interrelationships between foods and all aspects of the physiological, biophysical, microbial and neuro-humoral components of digestion, acquisition and assimilation, with particular emphasis on the role of food structure. The scope includes papers describing the influence of the hierarchical elements of food structure including nanoparticulate formulations, also foods containing prebiotics, probiotics, genetically engineered microorganisms and other agents which influence digestion in its broadest sense including effects on gut associated immune and neurohumoral systems on any of the gut components including the hind gut. While the principal area of focus of the journal is in regard to human digestion we welcome papers that explore these areas in animal and in vitro models and which compare these processes in an evolutionary sense particularly in regard to hominids.

Food Engineering Reviews publishes reviews covering all engineering aspects of today’s food industry. Coverage concentrates on classic as well as modern novel food engineering topics, exploring such essential factors as the health, nutritional, and environmental aspects of food processing. The journal identifies and discusses trends that will drive the discipline over time. The scope of topics addressed is broad, encompassing Transport phenomena in food processing; Food process engineering; Physical properties of foods; Food nano-science and nano-engineering; Food equipment design; Food plant design; Modeling food processes; Microbial inactivation kinetics; Preservation technologies; Engineering aspects of food packaging; Shelf life, storage and distribution of foods; Instrumentation, control and automation in food processing; Food engineering, health and nutrition; Energy and economic consideration in food engineering and Food engineering education.

The journal is a global forum for academic discussions on food ethics. As a consequence it is trans-, multi- and interdisciplinary, as well as non-partisan and cross-cultural. Thematically the journal spans the whole value chain from producer to consumer, including important agents such as processing industry and retailers. It covers all aspects related to the production and consumption of human food, and it has a focus on the utilization of seafood, crops and plants, and animals. Environmental issues such as the sustainable use of land areas and the natural resources, e.g. freshwater, are included in the thematic focus, and special attention is given to the development and use of modern technology, e.g. biotechnology, as a way to improve global food security.  Attention is also paid to issues like animal welfare and fair trade, as well as just and democratic governance of the value chains. Food security, food safety and sovereignty, rights and responsibilities, as well as cultural determinants and frameworks of understanding food are natural thematic focal points.

The Food Science and Biotechnology (Food Sci. Biotechnol.; FSB), an international journal published bimonthly by the Korean Society of Food Science and Technology (KoSFoST), provides results of original research on the physical, chemical, biological, and health aspects of food science and technology, and a review related to food science and biotechnology. FSB has been covered in Current Contents and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) from 2003. FSB has been also indexed by SCOPUS from September, 2008. Food and Bioprocess Technology provides an effective and timely platform for cutting-edge high quality original papers in the engineering and science of all types of food processing technologies, from the original food supply source to the consumer’s dinner table. It aims to be a leading international journal for the multidisciplinary agri-food research community. The journal focuses especially on experimental or theoretical research findings that have the potential for helping the agri-food industry to improve process efficiency, enhance product quality and, extend shelf-life of fresh and processed agri-food products.
