The Russian Academy of Sciences publishes more than 250 journals, first among these being the Herald (Vestnik), produced since 1931, which covers the Academy´s activities as a whole. It publishes major works, speeches, and discussions presented to the Academy by the most eminent Russian and foreign scientists, representing the viewpoints of various disciplines on subjects important to the natural, technical, and social sciences. It addresses the scientist´s role in society and the role of scientific knowledge in the modern world. Here, top scientists discuss important issues involving our world that affect all areas of science, education, and the environment. The journal regularly devotes space to reporting the work of the Presidium of the Academy, results of research groups, awards, prizes, and nominations. Now available in English, the Herald is indispensable for university and research departments, libraries, and researchers wanting to keep abreast of news and trends in their fields.
Heredity is the official journal of the Genetics Society. It covers a broad range of topics within the field of genetics and therefore papers must address conceptual or applied issues of interest to the journal's wide readership. The journal particularly encourages submissions in the following areas: * population genetics (including human) * genomics, functional genomics and proteomics * evo-devo * biometrical and statistical genetics * ecological and evolutionary genetics * animal and plant breeding * cytogeneticsHeredity's original articles cover new theory and primary empirical research. The journal also publishes regular reviews and news & commentary articles.
Hernia was founded in 1997 with the purpose of promoting clinical studies and basic research as they apply to groin hernias, internal hernias, the abdominal wall (anterior and postero-lateral aspects), the diaphragm and the perineum. 'Hernia' is the official organ of the European Hernia Society (GREPA), established in 1979, and of the American Hernia Society (AHS) established in 1997. These associations have common objectives: the advancement of abdominal wall and hernia surgery in all aspects, the study of anatomical, physiological, pathological and therapeutic issues concerning the abdominal wall and hernias, the creation of associated groups which will promote research and teaching in this field, the development of interdisciplinary relations. 'Hernia' is a journal written by surgeons who have made abdominal wall surgery their special field of interest.
HERZ is the high-level journal for further education for all physicians interested in cardiology. The individual issues of the journal each deal with specific topics and comprise review articles in English and German written by competent and esteemed authors. They provide up-to-date and comprehensive information concerning the speciality dealt with in the issue. Due to the fact that all relevant aspects of the pertinent topic of an issue are considered, an overview of the current status and progress in cardiology is presented. Contributions concerning the latest developments and case reports round off the spectrum of information provided.
High Blood Pressure & Cardiovascular Prevention promotes knowledge, update and discussion in the field of hypertension and cardiovascular disease prevention, by providing a regular programme of independent review articles covering key aspects of the management of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. Founded in 1967, High Energy Chemistry (Khimiya Vysokikh Energii) publishes original papers on radiation chemistry, photochemistry, plasma chemistry, laser chemistry, and other aspects of high energy chemistry. It is the only scientific journal of its kind. It publishes theoretical papers and reports on experimental studies in all areas of high energy chemistry, such as the interaction of high-energy particles with matter, the nature and reactivity of short-lived species induced by the action of particle and electromagnetic radiation or hot atoms on substances in their gaseous and condensed states, and chemical processes initiated in organic and inorganic systems by high-energy radiation.
High Temperature (Teplofizika Vysokikh Temperatur), founded in 1963, is a prominent Russian physical engineering journal. Coverage includes properties and processes in low-temperature plasmas; thermophysical properties of substances including pure materials, mixtures and alloys; phase equilibria; heat and mass transfer phenomena in particular by forced and free convections, boiling and condensation processes, radiation and complex heat transfer; methods and instruments of experimental techniques; high temperature installations and equipment for power engineering applications and more. The journal publishes original papers and reviews in high-temperature thermal physics, by Russian and international researchers. It reflects trends in thermal physics, presenting the results of contemporary experimental investigations; studies in the numerical simulation of complex thermal, gas-dynamics, and heat-and-mass-transfer processes; and the latest achievements in the theoretical description of the properties of high-tem
Oxidation of Metals is the premier source for the rapid dissemination of current research on all aspects of the science of gas-solid reactions at temperatures greater than about 400ËšC, with primary focus on the high-temperature corrosion of bulk and coated systems. This authoritative bi-monthly publishes original scientific papers on kinetics, mechanisms, studies of scales from structural and morphological viewpoints, transport properties in scales, phase-boundary reactions, and much more. Articles may discuss both theoretical and experimental work related to gas-solid reactions at the surface or near-surface of a material exposed to elevated temperatures, including reactions with oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, carbon and halogens. In addition, Oxidation of Metals publishes the results of frontier research concerned with deposit-induced attack. Review papers and short technical notes are encouraged.
