The Journal of Advanced Nursing (JAN) is a world-leading international peer reviewed Journal. JAN targets readers who are committed to advancing practice and professional development on the basis of new knowledge and evidence. The Journal of Advanced Nursing (JAN) contributes to the advancement of evidence-based nursing, midwifery and healthcare by disseminating high quality research and scholarship of contemporary relevance and with potential to advance knowledge for practice, education, management or policy. All JAN papers are required to have a sound scientific, evidential, theoretical or philosophical base and to be critical, questioning and scholarly in approach. As an international journal, JAN promotes diversity of research and scholarship in terms of culture, paradigm and healthcare context. For JAN’s worldwide readership, authors are expected to make clear the wider international relevance of their work and to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural considerations and differences. The majority of papers in JAN are written by nurses and midwives but there are no constraints on authorship as long as papers fit with the expressed Aims and Scope. JAN‘s intended readership includes practising nurses and midwives in all spheres and at all levels who are committed to advancing practice and professional development on the basis of new knowledge and evidence; managers and senior members of the nursing and midwifery professions; nurse educators and nursing students; and researchers in other disciplines with interest in common issues and inter-disciplinary collaboration. Papers published in JAN are increasingly cited in reviews of evidence and used by other healthcare professionals, policy-makers, commissioners and users of services to inform their decision-making and practice.

The Journal of Advanced Transportation is a fully peer reviewed international journal in the general area of transportation. It publishes papers ranging from methodological to descriptive case studies in analysis, planning, design, technology, economics and operations of transport and traffic systems. Transport Planning, Urban Rail and Bus Systems, Air & Water transport, Intelligent Transport Systems, Highway and Traffic Engineering, Transport and Traffic Systems Analysis, and Transport in Developing Countries are some topics of interest.

JAMES is a Gold Open Access journal that publishes original research articles advancing the development and application of models at all scales in understanding the physical Earth system and its coupling to biological, geological and chemical systems.

Journal of Aging Research is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles, review articles, and clinical studies related to all aspects of aging.

The Journal of Agrarian Change is the leading journal of agrarian political economy. It promotes investigation of the social relations and dynamics of production, property and power in agrarian formations and their processes of change, both historical and contemporary. It encourages work within a broad interdisciplinary framework, informed by theory, and serves as a forum for serious comparative analysis and scholarly debate. Contributions are welcomed from political economists, historians, anthropologists, sociologists, political scientists, economists, geographers, lawyers, and others committed to the rigorous study and analysis of agrarian structure and change, past and present, in different parts of the world. Published on behalf of the Agricultural Economics Society, the Journal of Agricultural Economics is a leading international professional journal, providing a forum for research into agricultural economics and related disciplines such as statistics, marketing, business management, politics, history and sociology, and their application to issues in the agricultural, food, and related industries; rural communities, and the environment.

Each issue of the JAE contains articles, notes and book reviews as well as information relating to the Agricultural Economics Society. Published 3 times a year, it is received by members and institutional subscribers in 69 countries. With contributions from leading international scholars, the JAE is a leading citation for agricultural economics and policy. Published articles either deal with new developments in research and methods of analysis, or apply existing methods and techniques to new problems and situations which are of general interest to the Journal’s international readership.

The effects of stress on crop production of agricultural cultivated plants will grow to paramount importance in the 21st century, and the Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science aims to make a contribution to understanding these challenges. In this context, stress refers to extreme conditions under which crops and forages grow. The journal publishes original papers, short communications, reviews, and book reviews on the general and special science of abiotic plant stress. Specific topics addressed include: Drought, including water-use efficiency, Chemical Constraints, such as salinity and acid soils, Extreme temperatures as heat, cold and chilling stress limit the cultivation of crops, Flooding and oxidative stress, mineral deficiency and toxicity stress and means of restricting them. The Journal will give preference to scientific articles on plant stress highlighting these subsections. Particular regard is given to application-oriented basic research and applied research. Journal of Analytical Methods in Chemistry (formerly titled Journal of Automated Methods and Management in Chemistry) publishes original research articles as well as review articles related to the use of analytical methods in chemistry with particular emphasis on automation and mechanization in analytical, clinical, and industrial environments.

Journal of Anatomy publishes original papers, invited review articles and book reviews. Its main focus is on contributions to understanding development, evolution and function through a broad range of anatomical approaches. Articles covering bioinformatics and other topics that clarify or provide tools for functional anatomical understanding will also be sympathetically considered. Priority will be given to experimental studies, to contributions based on molecular and cell biology, and on the application of modern functional imaging techniques. Studies that are essentially descriptive anatomy will only be published if the Editors consider that they are of functional significance. Journal of Anatomy also publishes Brief Communications: these are brief papers (up to 3 journal pages) that present new ideas or data of particular originality and timeliness. The editors will also consider publishing Letters (1-2 pages) on scientific issues of clear relevance to the scope of interest of the Journal.

The journal publishes original articles by international scientists on the progress of research in animal production, quantitative genetics, biology, and evolution of domestic animals. Researchers, teachers, and the animal breeding industry will find the reports of interest. Book reviews appear in many issues. A supplemental series Advances in Animal Breeding and Genetics/Fortschritte in der Tierzuchtung und Zuchtungsbiologie is published at irregular intervals. The Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition publishes original papers on research in the fields of animal physiology, physiology and biochemistry of nutrition, animal nutrition, feed technology, and feed preservation. The journal is a forum for presenting articles on basic and applied research, thus making new findings, methods, and techniques easily accessible and applicable in practice. Reviews of the most important specialized literature are also included. A supplemental series Advances in Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition is published at irregular intervals. Fields of interest: Basic research in the fields of animal physiology; physiology, chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology of nutrition, animal nutrition, feed technology, and feed preservation.

The Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics (JACMP) is an applied journal, which publishes papers that will help clinical medical physicists perform their responsibilities more effectively and efficiently for the increased benefit of the patient. The journal was established in 2000 and is an open access journal published quarterly.

Many research topics in condensed matter research, materials science and the life sciences make use of crystallographic methods to study crystalline and non-crystalline matter with neutrons, X-rays and electrons. Articles published in the Journal of Applied Crystallography focus on these methods and their use in identifying structural and diffusion-controlled phase transformations, structure-property relationships, structural changes of defects, interfaces and surfaces, etc. Developments of instrumentation and crystallographic apparatus, theory and interpretation, numerical analysis and other related subjects are also covered. The journal is the primary place where crystallographic computer program information is published.
