The Journal of Southern African Studies is an international publication for work of high academic quality on issues of interest and concern in the region of Southern Africa. It aims at generating fresh scholarly enquiry and rigorous exposition in the many different disciplines of the social sciences and humanities, and periodically organises and supports conferences to this end, sometimes in the region. It seeks to encourage inter-disciplinary analysis, strong comparative perspectives and research that reflects new theoretical or methodological approaches. An active advisory board and an editor based in the region demonstrate our close ties with scholars there and our commitment to promoting research in the region. The region covered embraces South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Angola and Mozambique; and occasionally, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar and Mauritius. * Order an African Studies Journals CataloguePeer Review Statement All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editorial screening, followed by assignment to one of three editors with more specialised knowledge, and review by at least two other referees. The Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies is an international peer-reviewed journal that interrogates established notions of Spanish culture and Hispanism by publishing innovative theoretical and critical work of the highest quality. It promotes the study of previously marginalized areas of Spanish culture, and research which rethinks the cultural meanings of canonical texts, in relation to all historical periods. Work across disciplinary and national boundaries is encouraged.Submissions are invited on any period and in or across any cultural discipline, including: literary studies, performing arts, visual arts, film, media, intellectual history, philosophy, history of science, psychoanalysis, cultural theory, cultural history, material culture, anthropology, religion, popular culture, mass culture, museum studies, tourism, cultural policy. In particular, the journal is a vehicle for work on the role of culture in identity formation and the cultural negotiation of concepts of nation, region, class, gender, and ethnicity; local nationalisms and globalization; subcultures and urban ethnography; the construction of taste and audience reception; heritage and cultural memory.Four issues are published each year: with all articles in English or Spanish, with quotations in the original language (in the case of Basque, Catalan, and Galician, an English or Spanish translation is also given). The Journal of Spanish Language Teaching is a new peer-reviewed journal that provides an international forum for innovative research, methods, materials and theories on the teaching and learning of Spanish as a foreign language. The Journal's main purpose is to create a dialogue between researchers and practitioners worldwide in order to enrich a discipline that is experiencing tremendous growth. The Journal invites contributions from researchers working on topics related to the teaching and learning of the Spanish language at any educational level and in any setting.

The Journal will publish original research papers as well as book reviews. Periodically, it will also consider monographic issues and critical surveys of recent research related to a specific sub-discipline or geographical area. A thorough peer review process will be applied to both commissioned and unsolicited articles. The Journal of Spanish Language Teaching will constitute an essential journal of reference in the field. There is currently no other academic publication dedicated solely to the teaching and learning of Spanish, which exists in both print and electronic formats, and is global in its reach. Targeted at both academics and practitioners, the Journal aims to have a major impact on the discipline.

The Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research (JSLHR) annually publishes summary statistics of acceptance/rejection rates and manuscript processing times. These summary statistics provide data on acceptance/rejection rates, frequently used by tenure/promotion committees, as well as average manuscript processing times, often of interest to contributing authors.Table 1 shows the rates for acceptance and rejection for manuscripts receiving a final decision in 2008 through 2010, regardless of the year the manuscript was submitted originally. The Speech, Language, and Hearing sections of the journal are reported separately. Accepted manuscripts are those for which a final decision to accept has been made. Rejected manuscripts are those that have been judged unsuitable for publication and for which no further revision or resubmission has been requested.Figure 1 presents data for manuscripts that had completed the review process as of year-end 2010. The submission-to-decision interval is calculated from the date the editor's office receives the new or revised manuscript to the date a decision is made on the manuscript.

The Journal of Spirituality in Mental Health is an interdisciplinary professional journal (retiled from American Journal of Pastoral Counseling to better reflect its broader scope) that is devoted to the scholarly study of spirituality as a resource for counseling and psychotherapeutic disciplines. This peer-reviewed quarterly journal seeks to enhance the understanding of spirituality as a core component of human well-being in individual, relational, and communal life. Leading authorities provide insights into research and effective therapy in an interdisciplinary dialog that crosses the disciplines of psychology, spirituality, theology, sociology, cultural analysis, and other fields. The Journal of Spirituality in Mental Health is a crucial forum that provides deeper insight into human meaning-making within therapeutic and growth-fostering activity. The primary spiritual experience is explored as it occurs either for practitioners or clients, with an examination of therapeutic meanings. Journal of Urban History (JUH), peer-reviewed and published bi-monthly, provides scholars and professionals with the latest research, analyses, and discussion on the history of cities and urban societies throughout the world. JUH presents original research by distinguished authors from the variety of fields concerned with urban history. The Journal of Value Inquiry is an international, peer-reviewed, philosophical quarterly devoted to the stimulation and communication of research in value studies.
