Critical Reviews in Clinical Laboratory Sciences publishes review articles in all areas of clinical laboratory science (including clinical biochemistry, clinical hematology, clinical microbiology, pathology, transfusion medicine, genetics, and immunology). Our aim is to meet the needs of, and build a bridge between, two constituencies: to allow clinical scientists to broaden their primary knowledge base to include the vocabulary, concepts, and information from the various fields of medicine that they require to perform their work; and to allow laboratory physicians to keep pace with the rapid developments taking place in scientific disciplines that directly impact their daily activities. The editorial staff strive to ensure the inclusion of sufficient introductory background material in each article to allow a non-specialist reader to understand the text that follows.Reviews are generally solicited from international experts on the advice of members of the Editorial Advisory Board. However, other authors are encouraged to submit outlines of proposed reviews to the Editor-in-Chief for consideration, following which a formal invitation may be issued. Primary authors are encouraged to recruit collaborators to help in forging a representative consensus and comprehensive coverage of the selected topic. The adjective “Critical” implies a balanced synthesis of results and conclusions that are frequently contradictory and controversial. A single expert, whose name appears under the names of the authors, is assigned the task of refereeing the paper. This open process promotes a fairer review than may be the case when the identity of the referee is concealed by the mask of anonymity. The emphasis upon “Sciences” generally disqualifies topics of a professional nature (such as instrumentation, quality assurance, and methodology) unless they are based upon novel scientific concepts. The scope of the journal includes the clinical laboratory aspects of:*Diagnosis, monitoring, prognosis, and management of disease*Detection and prevention of disease among apparently healthy persons *Biochemistry of disease *Genetics of disease*Immunobiology of disease *Markers of disease *CancerRead More: http://informahealthcare.com/page/lab/Description.

The great advances in immunology in recent years make this field one of the most rapidly growing in biological sciences. This remarkable growth is stimulated by the influx of investigators from other disciplines such as biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and by an increased number of investigators who came to immunology through the more traditional routes of microbiology and various medical disciplines. As a consequence, immunology has become a vast and rich field encompassing outlooks that range from the highly clinical to the highly molecular. Although such perspectives may appear diverse, they are, in fact, highly interdependent. Critical ReviewsTM in Immunology presents a balanced overview of contemporary immunology and melds together molecular immunology and immunobiology.
Critical Reviews in Microbiology is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes comprehensive reviews covering all areas of microbiology, including molecular biology, microbial physiology, microbial pathogenicity, microbial biochemistry, microbial structure, medical microbiology, epidemiology, public health, and environmental microbiology. Of particular interest are reviews covering clinical aspects of the occurrence and treatment of bacterial, virological, fungal, and parasitic diseases; microbial genetics; and laboratory diagnosis. Reviews in food and industrial microbiology may also be considered. All reviews must be analytical, comprehensive, and balanced in nature. Editors welcome uninvited submissions, as well as suggested topics for reviews accompanied by an abstract.Read More: http://informahealthcare.com/page/mby/Description.
Authors who wish to submit reviews to the journal are requested to submit a short synopsis of their chosen subject to the Editor. Further information regarding the submission of manuscripts and guidelines for the preparation of the manuscripts can be found in the Guide for Authors.
Therapeutic uses of a variety of drug carrier systems have significant impact on the treatment and potential cure of many chronic diseases, including cancer, diabetes mellitus, psoriasis, parkinsons, Alzheimer, rheumatoid arthritis, HIV infection, infectious diseases, asthma, and drug addiction. Scientific efforts in these areas are multidisciplinary, involving the physical, biological, medical, pharmaceutical, biological materials, and engineering fields.Articles concerning this field appear in a wide variety of journals. With the vast increase in the number of articles and the tendency to fragment science, it becomes increasingly diffcult to keep abreast of the literature and to sort out and evaluate the importance and reliability of the data, especially when proprietary considerations are involved. Abstracts and noncritical articles often do not provide a sufficiently reliable basis for proper assessment of a given field without the additional perusal of the original literature. This journal bridges this gap by publishing authoritative, objective, comprehensive multidisciplinary critical review papers with emphasis on formulation and delivery systems. Both invited and contributed articles are subject to peer review.

Culture, Health & Sexuality is a leading international environment for the publication of papers in the fields of culture, health and sexuality. The journal is broad and multi-disciplinary in focus, publishing papers on methodology as well as those that are empirical and conceptual in nature. It offers a forum for debates on policy and practice, adopting a practitioner focus where appropriate. Culture, Health and Sexuality takes a genuinely international stance in its consideration of key issues and concerns, as reflected in the composition of the editorial board. More specifically, the journal aims to: * Provide an international forum for the analysis of culture and health, health beliefs and systems, social structures and divisions, and the implications for these for sexual health, and individual, collective and community wellbeing. * Provide an environment in which the policy and practice implications of research in the fields of culture and health, and culture and reproductive and sexual health, can be considered. * Offer a setting for critical scholarly debate about how best to analyse the cultural dimensions of health issues in general, and reproductive and sexual health issues in particular.
